The Ski Towns Part I

The first pearl on our ski town necklace; Vail Colorado. We would like to thank Erin V. again for graceously letting us crash at her place. We missed your presence. Enroute to Gore Canyon we stopped off at Homestake Creek and paddled down Gillman Gorge. We didn't expect much but it turned out to a fun filled day of Ghost Towns and rubble in the river.

Buena Vista aka Lake Creek & The Numbers

After 4 great days of kayaking and hanging with Asheville bros we decided to head out to Buena Vista. Along the way we stopped off at Cottonwood Pass (Continental Divide) and did some sight seeing.

Josh Werts everyone. Sorry ladies the stud belongs to Mrs. Amanda.

While in BV we were greeted by more friends. Chris and Dylan stopped in to do some paddling while passing through to Cali. Really they just wanted to pouch shuttle and Dylan needed to test out our gear saving abilities. We were also welcomed by Colorado local Wayne; which some of you might know from Clemson. Wayne, thanks for sharing the good brew and vibes. See you in Boulder. We'll be sure to ripein up your place with our kayaking stench.

Daisy and the Upper East of CB

Daisy Creek with Big Wood Falls at the top. We really wanted to get this one but once again the flow was too low.

The Colorado put in hikes are amazing.

More hiking to the Upper East put in.

A littl low but none of us are that stupid anyhow

Headin to Buena Vista or as the locals simply say BV.

Oh Be Joyful Creek

Well once again we have run into a bunch of our Asheville friends while spending some time at Oh Be Joyful. Apparently Colorado boaters to boat much. Here's is a little eye candy from our 3 days spent on this beautiful creek. Check out vid below.

Daniel! Put down the boat while you're filming

Onward to Crestte Butt (SP): The Butte

Well we decided against the 2nd Gorge of Lime due to warm weather (equaling a rise flow) and moved onward to Crested Butte. Crested Butte is famous for having four class V creeks in a 15 mile radius. One of which, Oh Be Joyful Creek, you take out right at the campground. Along our drive we stopped in Ourary, the Ice Climbing Capital of the country. The Uncompahgre Gorge has a pipe system at its rim which allows climbers to create an endless supply of routes.
Apparently the Gorge is also boatable if free of wood.

Mothers close your eye's or just don't look in the top right hand corner.

Oh Be Joyful, possibly the steepest class V creek in all of CO and the most famous. Huck your meat, but only if Ben and Clayton don't quit to pursue the catwalk.

Another spectacular view from our campground. Look for an Oh Be Joyful Creek vid next week.
